"The Ides of March" traditionally was associated with the Roman God of Mars associated I think with War of which March 15th historically was the date of Military Parades. In contemporary terms perhaps we could as a Nation allow Military Homecoming and War ending parades to exist Nationally, city by city if necessary for our soldiers returning from the ending of the Iraqi war. However, the movie in my mind especially since Hollywood is traditionally libral or so it is rumored rather apathetically insisted that this "White Obama and if creative and pressed gently straight Foley/Ensign"story alludes to the "Audacity of Hope" in so much as we should all give up hope as the Idealistic Gossling characters fall into darkness suggest, the plot twist in the end still elluding me however as to its message as the other critics here have suggested. For Hollywood to contribute to this ongoing Media message on politcal news networks is really somehow for me interesting. Gotta Go!

Oringinally, "The Ides of March" drew me in by its total lack of veneer and High-Gloss with its totally jaded perspective of the political process something that no longer cares about the will of the people just "winning the game" and I find this true in todays politics. This makes the Hollywood message of "Hope was in fact, Audacious" that much more stark the title of the movie perhaps should have been more directly correlative to the Shakespearian or "Beware The Ides of March." We as a Nation are more conclusively pushed for endless God of War type approaches to foreign policies, hawkishness and the sanctity of the DOD budget dictating foreign affairs and "diplomacy" and a money market ploy for not the Government per se but for the 147 banks and finanical institutions that rule the world. When Clinton during his administration first handed the pen used to bring about the legislation of 1999 that deregulated the financial district and handed that pen to Mr. Weill, the billionaire of CityGroup, the then Treasuary Secretary Rubin rumored to have had a conversation with Weill and replying to Weill imparting the "new deal" to Rubin, Rubin replied rather naively "Your Buying the Government?" Yes, this movie is the end of innocence which begans its deconstruction with the Savings and Loans scandal and at the signing of dergualtions of 1999 made possible for the financial world and corresponding Corporation to take down the globe and its inflationary economy in just 9 years. The Ides of March do not lie with its message of hopelessness and just how impossible a task it is in changing a system with war capabilities beyond a well meaning uprising when push comes to shove in favor of men of industry both government and private sector. My message of "hope"? They don't seem to be able to keep anything alive for long, though they may surprise not us, we'll be dead, but my only consideration here if true about their lack of survival instinct is they can't seem to even keep themselves alive without the taxpayer used to bail Satan out sort of speak, so they die too. Caio!
