chrisk watched a different movie...

I was shocked to read some of the reviews before taking my 11 year old son & his friend to see this movie tonight. My son's 5th grade teacher has the class reading the book, so I started it to see what all the hype was about. I am about 2/3 finished with the book, which I thoroughly enjoy, and found the movie to be remarkably close to the story line. Sure, there are changes, there has to be, but some of the dialogue is exactly the same.

As my title mentioned, chrisk complained about the movie, stating that 100 years from now, America is going to be all white?? I'm wondering, did he only watch the first 10 minutes that took place in District 12??? As the book and movie goes, District 12 is coal country, in the mountains, which would typically place the setting in West Virginia. According to the 2010 census, West Virginia is 98.5% white, so you're criticizing a movie for being STATISCALLY correct??? Once the movie moved to the capital, there were many people of color, many different races depicted.

I enjoyed the movie, thought it moved along quite well and was very well done. I am now looking forward to finishing the book Hunger Games, and going on to read the next two in the series.
