I think this movie was the biggest let down. After reading the book, I expected something with the passion and anticipation that made me not able to put the book down. However, I did not get this from the movie. First off, Katniss’ love and connection with District 12 because of her dad is overlooked. Hunting with Gale does not show their special connection with each other but rather just shows them as two friends. Next, how Katniss gets the mocking jay pin is just ridiculous. That pin is one of the most important things in the book and for the director to change how she got it is just obscured. Also, the pin is rarely mentioned until she goes into the arena while in the book it seemed like she wore it on everything. The pin is what is so important for the other books that I would have thought the director would of made it somewhat important. The other part that let me down was Katniss’ and Peeta’s time in the arena especially together. For example, Peeta only falls asleep when Katniss goes to get the medicine while in the book she drugged him with a gift from Haymitch.

All in all I think this movie was a let down from the book. I was expecting a really good movie that mimicked the book but what we got was a movie that vaguely resembled the book. I really hope they make the other two books into movies but I hope they follow the books a little better.
