It was a Blast and Jennifer Lawrence was Outstanding!
This movie was better than I had expected. I had stayed in line for four hours at the midnight showing and there were some girls next to me who were dressed as their favorite characters from the book. Denver News at 7 interviewed them and I was nearby so I'm sure I got my face on there. Me, I was probably the only guy there dressed up as Katniss. She's my favorite of them all.
After watching the movie, I was so thrilled that I had to watch it again. I've not only pre-ordered tickets for the midinight showing, but for another showing at 9:30 the next morning. The movie is just as good as the books. Although some scenes were removed and altered, as how an adaptation would usually do, the movie still acted like the book. Once you've seen it, you're gonna want to watch it again or you can't wait for the sequel, Catching Fire. A Real Neverending Story as I would like to call it.
Jennifer Lawrence did a most Oustanding performance. She really came to life as The Girl on Fire. I've said it before and I'm proud to say it again, Jennifer is not the perfect Katniss, SHE IS KATNISS! I hope that she gets nominated for her performance because she really brought the character to life. The reason that I like Katniss the most is because she is a real down to earth person and she keeps to herself. She's not good with words and she does everything to keep her family safe. That's Me!
For those who say that the movie was bad or the books were better, I can understand. But before you get too judgemental, you have to understand that this is usually what happens when a book becomes a movie. The movie was fast-paced, but if it got all of the details in there, it would have been split into two parts or the movie would have been over five hours long.
Anyway the movie was terrific and I would strongly recomend this film to the public because the scary fact about The Hunger Games is that it could be out distant future because of the way things are going with our government and population.
I'm a Huge fan of both the books and the movie and I'm so glad to be. The Hunger Games has really changed my life and it has really opened my eyes. I'm so happy it did!
