Honestly i had extremely high hopes for this movie. I absolutely loved to books, read The Hunger games a total of eight times. I could not say i was disappointed with the movie, i was surprised but how much i liked it. However the movies might be difficult for viewers to follow if they haven't read the books, it does not explain the complexity of the characters, which i did not expect them to in a 2 1/2 hour movie. The fight scenes and gore were obviously toned down to obtain a PG 13 rating :( , My advice is to read the novels first, to truly be able to appreciate the story. Overall i was happy with the movie, plan to buy it when its out on DVD. :)
