i keep reading these bad reviews..and i dont get it. heres what you need to know,
1- it strays from the book...BUT i do know they grabbed from the appendices and i can see where their going with it. (seriously, in the book, gandalf decides to leave the dwarves because he has business elsewhere,..it works in the book but for a movie a huge question mark)
2-comparing this to 'phantom menace' is ridiculous. CG is used heavily--not like it wasnt in LOTR, BUT their CG has improved greatly since ROTK--seriously. Put it like this they used the same tech as they did with gollum on alot of the creatures, so if you like gollum effects in LOTR, then you'll be equally amazed with this.
3- its funner, lighter to watch then FOTR. Dwarves are simply more comedic opposed to the sensitvity of the Hobbits. Sacrificing staying true to the book, it had better pacing than FOTR and 3 hours flew by. People saying that the acting sucks like Phantom Menace are just saying it to get attention? i dont know but Martin Freeman and Richard Armitage really did a good job, a really good job. See it for yourself.
