Middle Earth brought to life again, and everything about Tolkien's writings captured in video. I can not comprehend anyone giving this less then 3 stars, perhaps they are the ones that like Twilight? These movies are breathtaking in visuals and this is the character development usually missing within movies these days. The addition of other writings of Tolkien is a pleasant surprise as we get, perhaps, the best and only look we will get of his stories. The scene between Bilbo and Smeagol is worth the admission. Knowing this is part of a 9 hour feature makes my inner child jump for joy.
