From the 1 hr mark on its good. They should have truncated the first hour which is filler. Whatever you do dont watch LOTR again. They were superb. How they can make 3 movies out of a 300 page book is beyond me. $ I guess.
The first hour is so bad you might want to go out and stretch your legs. Wait an hour then come in. There is an extended meal scene with all the Hobbits that goes on and on and on.
Once Gandolph shows up the pace picks up. The third hour actually is the best hour . Maybe not as grand as LOTR.
I fear Jackson will ruin our memory of LOTR by these filler movies. Just like Lucas did with the new Star Wars. A tight script and more of the magic is needed.
