This movie is well worth the wait. Jackson and team did a great job carrying the LOTR tone, somewhat diminished as it should be, into the first installment of The Hobbit. I was concerned about how this story could be stretched out into three movies (and still be good). But after watching this movie I am convinced they are going to pull it off masterfully. In fact, they may do a better job transferring this story to the big screen than they did with LOTR. A really great movie and great start to an epic story. Can't wait for the next two!
