I don't write many movie reviews, but I just felt like I needed to chime in on this installment of The Hobbit.
After loving the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, I was really looking forward to The Hobbit. I really wanted to like this movie, but I just couldn't get there. It dragged, it had too many gimmicky special effects that added very little to the story line, and left me thinking that I could have made a good dent in reading the book again in the nearly 3 hours spent in the theater. I was really disappointed in the way they seem to be dragging out the movie unnecessarily (obviously for them to make more money on the franchise). It was not worth the $10 I spent to see it. I will be saving my cash on the future installments and perhaps just wait to buy the set when the films are discounted sometime down the road after all the movies have been released.
