A lot of people are "baggin" on this movie because Jackson included parts of the Simirillion in it, which means it doesn't follow the story line of The Hobbit exactly. But what it does do is introduce stories that are a part of the LOTR legacy, and ties "The Hobbit" movies to the LOTR movies. I love that aspect of it, and think it was a genius idea. The effects, costumes, filmography and music are spectacular, as always. And the iconic Bilbo/Golum encounter was beautifully done.
