The hobbit movie 2013 ruins the great original story. While the original story was great for kids, parents should keep kids away from this movie. This version is not worth watching.
They remove most of moral lessons in the original story, and replace …more»0 of 6 people found this review helpful-

Having read the books, I tend to compare the LOTR trilogy and this new upstart to the original. Of course, if you are like that, you likely get less out of the experience because the blend of your imagination and Tolken's writing is really tough …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

I admit I read the book over 40 years ago but being older does not mean I am not appreciative of today's special effects which is what this movie is about and not the story. Avatar was much better at combining live action with CGI and animation then this …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful-

My family enjoyed it the first time in 3D but my son and I watched it 2 weeks later in 2D and really liked it better. There is just too much to see in 3D so you don't really get to enjoy the acting and story. The fight with the giants and the fight …more»5 of 5 people found this review helpful-

Being a Lord of the Rings follower, I couldn't wait to see this movie. We went to the midnight showing, but was expecting it to come up a little short of The Lord Of The Rings series. Was I wrong! Great acting, action, plot and special effects. …more»2 of 2 people found this review helpful-

I thought the movie was incredible and can't wait to see it again in 3D! Also looking forward to the 2nd two installments. The movie was a great representation of the book, with some extra's added that made the story line that much more intriguing. …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

I was looking so forward to this movie. When I heard that this was only the first third of the book and 2hrs45 mins... I fired Jackson and his film company. I might see it when the Hobbit-trilogy all come out on BlueRay. I have the original Hobbit …more»1 of 6 people found this review helpful-

Was really looking forward to seeing this film, given that Pater Jackson had actually made a pretty good job (though not brilliant) of the LOTR. BUT...This is a hideously over-rated film: there is virtually no characterisation (an impressive feat, given …more»1 of 1 people found this review helpful-

At great risk of upsetting the Jackson/Tolkien groupies - I found this film achingly slow to get rolling. Pete J could have put at least 30mins (and probably close to an hour) on the cutting room floor and no-one would have missed it.
For such a star-studded …more»0 of 1 people found this review helpful
