Finally saw The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and was unexpectedly disappointed. Virtually every major ‘scene’ from the book was fundamentally altered and not for the better. the hobbit unexpected journey was very good, but less than perfect. Jackson and his team's interpretation went the extra mile for the important points such as the rise of the dark power, the backstory for the Quest for Erebore and the transformation …more»0 of 0 people found this review helpful-

I first read The Hobbit over thirty years ago. It was definitely a children's book and it has been realized almost perfectly on the screen. I understand some people believe there is too much dialogue. I disagree. The essence of Tolkein's books …more»1 of 2 people found this review helpful-

I could never stand Elijah Wood's portrayal of Frodo in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. As good as the films were, I was disappointed. So I was prepared not to like The Hobbit too much. But I found Martin Freeman's Bilbo Baggins character to be …more»0 of 2 people found this review helpful
