Well there's really not much substance to the movie and it actually makes one feel dehydrated and defenseless while viewing.
A non-stop chattering mother from NYC gets a visit from her salesman son from CA. The two reminisce about old times and old friends. When its time to leave,the son invites his mother on a cross country business tour back to CA. Secretly he wants his mother to re-connect with an old flame. On their travels,the two see the Grand canyon,eat a poodle sized steak,drink cleaning fluid,visit a cowboy bar,get spontaneous,drop in on past acquaintances and visit that old flame in San Francisco.
Tho the movie is predictable and offers some chuckles and charm, its those last few minutes that make the movie touching and heart warming as the two realize they care deeply fro each other and are in fact,like mother like son.
And Babs and Seth are comics made for one another.
