Although it was probably one of the most stressful movie experiences of my life, which is something to give it credit for, I thought the metaphysical/existential message (probably more accurately a vague agenda) was superficial and it never really focused itself into anything that I could really even be sure was being presented to me intentionally. That being said, I like it. It was brutally bleak and hopeless and mostly realistic, I thought, aside from maybe the gap jumping scene.
I felt like there were a lot of almost unrealisticly bad decisions made throughout, such as even leaving the wreckage for the trees in the first place.
I couldn't help but be upset with liam neeson for eventually proving himself to be fairly useless with his knowledge of wolves.
It also make me physically cold throughout the entire movie.
oh and the ending was horrendous.
But all of that frustration and horror and stress and discomfort add up to a pretty intense film. Thats something.
