The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo(2011)- User Reviews

One of the best films I've seen in a long time

star55

One of the best films I've seen in a long time, the hole thing was great top to bottom. The casting, ambiance of light, the actors really make u feel who they are and what they are going through. Didn't like the rape, but man did he get what was coming to him latter. XD

I'm a huge fan of Daniel Craig work, and this is right up their with his level of excellence. Rooney Mara played her role beyond what I would expected form her, was a joy to watch them on the big screen.

I agree with the others, can wait for the squeal to come out. XD

I had seen the swedish version which is very good. I was nor expecting the hollywood version to be better but it was.l do not have a very high opinion of Daniel Craig as an actor but he really surprised me. Great acting from everone.David Fincher did a great job.

Hadn't read the books but wanted to see this as son said it was worth it---after reading many reviews and deciding to watch even though rape/torture is not my thing it was in the book and needed to be in the movie for plot etc. It was long but time went by quickly as it was well done. It is a dark, unhappy movie--people using other people and in the end that is a sad thing to watch. I may actually watch the Swedish version now as I'm curious what the differences may be with actors, especially Noomi Rapace as Lisbeth.

I thought it was an extremely violent porno film...this is how people become evil...things they see and hear...just despicable...but I guess that was the emotion they were after when they made it.

This was a horrible movie. The fact that people can enjoy watching this kind of thing makes me lose my faith in humanity. How can anyone enjoy this???

ive read the books and saw the foreign film version, and i thought this movie was a good interpretation. i wonder if it would be interesting to the viewers who haven't read the books because there is a lot of information crammed into this movie, and tying it all together might be difficult.

i would recommend this movie. the ending was bittersweet, but i know there will be a part 2, so all is well.

I found this movie too disturbing to watch after awhile, not having read the book. I just knew the books were on the best seller lists and decided to get this. I like murder mysteries but this one was too graphic for me. I understand the necessity of some of the scenes to the plot but it just isn't for me.

Perhaps the rating should be modified to keep from offending viewers who were not prepared for the movie's content. I had read all the books, which I found riveting, and new what to expect in the movie, which was superbly done.

Did not see the original (choose not to read movies - dislike subtitles) though I heard very good things about it. This movie I did see and it was very well done. Acting is the movies strength. Though the raw emotion in the script was superb and well worth the experience. Overall as good as the movie was I still thought it was missing something when it ended. Maybe that is because it was setting the stage for the next installment.

Excellent flick. The story moves along at rapid pace...so pay attention. It is also a little long but if you are paying attention you find yourself engrossed.
Great cast, acting and sets. Highly recommended.

A movie that moves at rapid pace is like a beautiful lady that passes in front of you to vanish, few seconds later, amidst the multitude...

Best actress??? You mean 'actor'. Oh please! There's no drama in her role as far as her interaction with characters goes. The retaliation, resulting from the sex abuse is on par, or mediocre, with what I would expect from any actor. Most of the acting lie's between herself and the laptop, there's no real interaction with characters here, no performance. She's basically a punk young girl with a troubled past, lacking social skills - yeah that's tough to pull off. I really loved the movie, but a 'grave injustice' ??? You've got to be kidding me.

Nicholas. Oh Please! Who do you think you're kidding?! She got nominated for good reason. Too bad you don't have a clue.

What, were the tickets to Jack and Jill all sold out in the trailer park movie barn?

I cant even begin with how asinine it is that someone who clearly cant handle intense scenes in movies would be watching this film in the first place! By the way, rape is violent, disturbing and shocking...how else would you expect someone to express it in a film? Why would you want it muted down and lastly and most importantly...IT"S ONLY A MOVIE!! Why you let it personally effect you that you would gain satisfaction by people not going to see it only furthers my belief that you are probably and simply a dumb person.

      What is asinine?

Before you call someone dumb, please learn the difference between "affect" and "effect". Thanks.

Obviously you did not read the books. I don’t mind negative reviews, but when reviews are negative because the author is woefully ignorant then it bothers me. Every part of the movie is essential. Yes, the rape seen is brutal and difficult to watch, but this all part of what makes Salander’s character. How is this any more disturbing than Silence of the Lambs or Seven? Silence of the Lambs has the scene with Wild Bill dancing naked and making suit out of human flesh. Seven is full of strong and disturbing scenes of torture. Your argument is flawed and ridiculous. You did not like the movie because of the graphic sex and rape scene, but scenes full of torture and death is okay? Best advice for you is not to watch rated “R” movies—they are intended for mature audiences.

When some reviews are negative, they provide with an opportunity to explore the uneasiness and shake 'mental comfort zones'. It is natural...

the swedish version was way superior...why do the same movie over again in 2 years...nothing else to do...

Perhaps the movie rating should be modified to better reflect it's content. I read all the books, which I found riveting, and found the movie to be a superb representation of the book. Definitely a 5 star.
