If Rooney Mara fails to win Best Actress a grave injustice will have been committed, one that fails to acknowledge brilliance... one could even say perfection. Who else could have equaled her performance as Lisbeth Salander? She makes the film. It would have been an interesting, exciting film without her, but it is a great film with her. When we think that the film is over, that the bad guys have been dealt with, we find that the film isn't finished. The excitement of the investigation makes us forget that there are unresolved issues. The film does this seamlessly and naturally. We are drawn into even more of the complexity of the film in subtle ways with scenes that seem unnecessary at the moment but are key scenes for the rest of the story. Because the film has been such a thrilling ride of intrigue and suspense in pursuit of the worst kind of criminals, the realization that there is unfinished business is welcomed entertainment. We just don't want it to end - not like this. It is a must-see film for adults only. My guess is that viewers will will want to see this film many times.
