Perhaps the movie rating should be modified to better reflect it's content. I read all the books, which I found riveting, and found the movie to be a superb representation of the book. Definitely a 5 star.

Best actress??? You mean 'actor'. Oh please! There's no drama in her role as far as her interaction with characters goes. The retaliation, resulting from the sex abuse is on par, or mediocre, with what I would expect from any actor. Most of the acting lie's between herself and the laptop, there's no real interaction with characters here, no performance. She's basically a punk young girl with a troubled past, lacking social skills - yeah that's tough to pull off. I really loved the movie, but a 'grave injustice' ??? You've got to be kidding me.

I guess you never read the books. Had you done so, you would have found the movie to be way more interesting.

Excellent flick. The story moves along at rapid pace...so pay attention. It is also a little long but if you are paying attention you find yourself engrossed.
Great cast, acting and sets. Highly recommended.

Perhaps the rating should be modified to keep from offending viewers who were not prepared for the movie's content. I had read all the books, which I found riveting, and new what to expect in the movie, which was superbly done.

Obviously you did not read the books. I don’t mind negative reviews, but when reviews are negative because the author is woefully ignorant then it bothers me. Every part of the movie is essential. Yes, the rape seen is brutal and difficult to watch, but this all part of what makes Salander’s character. How is this any more disturbing than Silence of the Lambs or Seven? Silence of the Lambs has the scene with Wild Bill dancing naked and making suit out of human flesh. Seven is full of strong and disturbing scenes of torture. Your argument is flawed and ridiculous. You did not like the movie because of the graphic sex and rape scene, but scenes full of torture and death is okay? Best advice for you is not to watch rated “R” movies—they are intended for mature audiences.

Saw the Swedish version and having not yet seen this incarnation, I'm wondering how it stacks up. I'm hoping for a slightly different take since the book was so involved and the Swedish version left out quite a bit due to the time constraints of a movie. I'd hate to see this version and find it to be just a rehash of the original. We'll see.

Exceptional acted, sequenced, and spell bound story. 2 hr 30 min passes quickly. Every moment is entertaining. I love stories that are told so well. Daniel Craig did an excellent job as the disgraced writter. The young girl was also very, very good. Pretty hot sex scenes also. I had not scene Joely Richardson since Nip/Tuck and she was good also. Stellan Scarsgard is an excellent actor and very believable. Only problem for me was that the theater was cool (me in a thin, long sleeve shirt) and all that snow and dreary cold weather in Sweden made me feel like I was there.

I read all 3 books in about a two week period before the movie came out. The books were absolutely great reading and hard to put down. The movie had several points which were different then the book but all in all a good movie. Can wait for the next two books to be made into movies. Brock Lesner would be great cast for the step brother.

What, were the tickets to Jack and Jill all sold out in the trailer park movie barn?

I cant even begin with how asinine it is that someone who clearly cant handle intense scenes in movies would be watching this film in the first place! By the way, rape is violent, disturbing and shocking...how else would you expect someone to express it in a film? Why would you want it muted down and lastly and most importantly...IT"S ONLY A MOVIE!! Why you let it personally effect you that you would gain satisfaction by people not going to see it only furthers my belief that you are probably and simply a dumb person.

the swedish version was way superior...why do the same movie over again in 2 years...nothing else to do...

Revenge is a personal matter. Police are public servants. Involving police would cripple her character and make the movie boring and ordinary.

Did not see the original (choose not to read movies - dislike subtitles) though I heard very good things about it. This movie I did see and it was very well done. Acting is the movies strength. Though the raw emotion in the script was superb and well worth the experience. Overall as good as the movie was I still thought it was missing something when it ended. Maybe that is because it was setting the stage for the next installment.

I totally agree with CorinneC. The sex scenes are way too strong, lets not talk about the rape scene: Disturbing. The movie is good, a good thriller. I'm buyigthe book.

I think that what I think is not worth the time spent thinking about it, so I am not going to write what I think, I think, and I think I don't want to think about it.

Before thinking what you think about these thoughts...think it twice.

I found this movie too disturbing to watch after awhile, not having read the book. I just knew the books were on the best seller lists and decided to get this. I like murder mysteries but this one was too graphic for me. I understand the necessity of some of the scenes to the plot but it just isn't for me.
