The previous poster is right.Although the director is a very skilled one the movie is terrible -half an hour of violence to set the scene where 10 minutes would be enough. Close ups of explosions and wounded with a ridiculous plot and unbelievable characters to make an appeal to Hollywood "happy ending" lovers. The main character starts as a drunk and a layabout and miraculously turns into a hero. Too many plot threads and no followup to them and a silly romance to appeal again to Hollywood.The victims of the Nanjing Massacre deserve better,
