Clint in Top Athletic Form--Intrigue to Boot

This movie has a lot going for it. George Kennedy and Clint Eastwood have great interplay together, and their relationship is pivotal to the film. It is hilarious to realize now that Clint's ex-CIA (or whatever secret agency) albino boss looks suspiciously like Dr. Evil in Meyer's Shagalicious Austin Powers Movies! I got a huge laugh out of that.

This movie has it all--including a very insane microfilm, cold-war assassination moment in the beginning somewhere in Europe. There's also a hilarious moment of Clint giving a college class a dissertation on Art--you just don't think of "Do you feel lucky punk?" as an art professor.

What really bolsters the film is the incredible locations in Arizona and in Switzerland, showcasing some of the best rock-climbing footage ever captured on film.

They also push the envelope in the early 70's by some of the racial overtones--for one, Aunt Jemima, who is a very attractive black woman who falls for Clint while she is roping him back into the agency. Favorite line from the movie "Well that's mighty white of you." Just listen for it; then Clint replies, "I'm gonna have to waste you a little..." Dam I love that part!!!

This has to be one of my favorite films EVER, up there with Where Eagles Dare. Great cold war flavors, awesome locations and scenery, and action scenes you can actually view without getting all dizzy from too-close camera work. Also, the cast pulled it off after one of the Brit climbers was dashed to death by a huge boulder in the beginning of filming--that had to be hard. Clint also did all his own climbing! This is a must see for Clint fans. I wish I had seen it in the theater.
