The Duellists is just another fantastic film directed by one of the 5 greatest directors of our era, Ridley Scott. The best thing about this film are the visuals. They're stunning. This movie is an example of how the camera alone (dialogue not entirely necessary) can create something so natural, visceral and brilliant. It tranports you right into the Napoleon era. The costumes and setwork were absolutely stunning. Seriously, this movie has the look of top notch quality all the way around. I highly recommend it on HD DVD and 32 inch or larger LCD screen. It's eye candy, pure and simple. The story itself is also very good and the charaterization was excellent (acting and dialogue). Check it out!
