I decided to watch this movie because it seemed like an okay 1700's movie with an interesting plot. It started alright, but got worse and worse as it went on. If this was a true story, and the Duchess really gets RAPED (yes depicted very vividly) into producing a male heir for the ***** Duke, that woman should have made a public humiliation of that man. It was utterly horrifying to find out she lived with the whore mistress and the Duke until she died and allowered her to take the title the Duchess. This movie is horrible. She is the only person who NEVER gets happiness. Never watch it.
