In this very amusing story about getting ahead in a career, you wonder who really did end up being "Number One". After all, Andy Sachs (and Anne Hathaway was superb in this role)is hired for the job that "a million girls would kill for",...even if she comes in looking decent but definitely not fashionable,... and later undergoes a "fashion metamorphasis" and really stuns her unbearable and unfriendly co-worker Emily, (played by Emily Blunt) and gradually comes to even impress her supervisor Madelaine Priestly, a witch-type in the fashion world. (Meryl Streep here, as in other roles, is very accomplished in her performance.) I was glad that Andy went to Paris, and there proved herself in her job.
While I, a minister, did not like maybe two aspects of the story, I am glad I have this video. While it, again, was very funny, there was a serious point to it, i.e.,-there's nothing wrong with a person bettering his/her self, but don't be snobbish as a result thereof.
I loved New York, Paris and its bright lights, the
hilarity of the movie, the good acting, and again, the story and its point. Watch this movie!
