The Devil's Backbone(2001)- User Reviews

I was suggested this movie after watching orphanage from the same filmmaker, which I enjoyed immensely. This movie has a lot going for it. Great acting by kids and adults, awesome direction as we have come to expect of Gullermo, and a tight script. Overall a great movie.
Though my only problem is the movie that led me to this movie, ie Orphanage. This movie tends to fit exactly into a mold that has been created by Guillermo Del Toro, and somewhat felt like a copy of the other, and hence very predictable (only saying from my viewing chronology, though I believe this came before Orphanage).
If you are new to Guillermo's style, you will enjoy this movie more than I did, as it held no surprises for me, even if you're not new to Guillermo, it's definitely worth a watch.
