This is the worst movie I can remember ever seeing. Ignorant distortions of the Catholic church's position on Possession and the Rite of exorcism, gratuitous violence, flat acting, and 10 minutes into the movie the outcome was as much a mystery as whether the ship would sink in "Titanic."
Even the setting, Rome, could not save the film with a few scenic shots. Cameras breezed by the usual monuments without a salute. The attempt to paint the view of Church authorities in a sinister light was a joke. Intending to discredit the heirarchy, disclaimers in the beginning made it clear the Church did not cooperate with the filming. As it turned out, anyone with a 3 digit IQ who reviewed this pathetic script would have the same reaction.
It is easy to understand why the producers had to use unknown actors, I suppose everyone feels the pinch in these troubled times, some grow desperate. Just wish I had my 10 bucks back.
Sad to say, with this atrocity on a CV, the unknowns in the cast have just experienced their final flash of fame. Time to hire a miracle worker agent, or see a career counselor. After this atrocity, though, miracles are going to be hard to find.
I am ashamed of myself for sitting through to the end - - - guess I thought I should at least finish my popcorn. Where is the refund line?
Worse news: this embarassment is being shown in foreign markets.
