The Darkest Hour(2011)- User Reviews

Enjoyable but Unfulfilling

star33

I was hoping for more from a Sci-Fi flick released during the holiday season. The visuals of individuals being disintegrated by the aliens was pretty good but found the visuals of the aliens kind of lame. Character and story development were also lacking, and since it was only a 90 min. movie, it was inexcusable for this to have been neglected. However, if you enjoy Sci-Fi, go see the 2-D version at a matinee, you will probably still enjoy it.

Since when is using relatively unknown actors automatically a BAD thing? I thought this movie was original and well executed...I thought the girl that played Natalie was great and Emile Hersh is certainly a competent actor. I also thought the way our heroes survived was believable, too.

Funny! I told my husband "this is like skyline but at least skyline was humorous and had one recognizable actor from Scrubs!"

Geez, this reviewer sucks so bad I have to comment. First, the alien doesn't see heat, this is not predator! it see the human electrical signals. Second, the m16 is gotten from an AMERICAN embassy, get it? American embassy, American rifle. Sure the movie scripting could be improve, but your comments made it obvious you don't understand the storyline.

First, I never said anything about the aliens seeing the character's heat signatures. They explain very clearly that the aliens sense our nervous-systems consisting of intertwined electrical highways. Second, I'm not sure what the issue was with the M16? Where is the puzzling conundrum? I never mentioned anything about a M16 rifle or the American Embassy.

I'm sure you won't read my review again, but next time get your criticisms correct.

Forgive my typos. I was a bit tired when I wrote this. But I still loved this movie nonetheless, despite all the criticisms. Criticisms mostly about my character, not my review of the movie.

    I forgot a few more:

Good Ones: The Fourth Kind (fake, but creepy), Knowing (it was OK), Hitchhiker's Guide..., Thor (even though they're demigods, they're still aliens), Avatar (we're the aliens)

Bad Ones: Cowboys Vs. Aliens (should have been way better), Super 8 (the zombie movie was cool), The Day The Earth Stood Still, The Forgotten
