overly long and spotty writing, but ends the trilogy on a high note

TDKR runs about 2 hours 45 minutes and could easily lose about a half hour of fat. Bane is a dull and boring villain that particularly suffers from comparisons to Ledger's Joker. The film's writing is haphazard and seems cobbled together from several plot lines at times, but the film brings the trilogy to a satisfying conclusion in the final minutes. Perhaps superhero movies have run their course..
