I've read many of the reviews on here. We were one of the first audiences to see this movie at the TCFF. The audience was laughing through much of the movie. I'm not a Will Ferrell fan like many reviewers. however I love Zak and think he does a much better job with comedy. I guess this has to do with the type of humor you have.
Re us liberals........this movie is not about liberals or conservatives. It's a satire on how obsurd our political campaigns are. They put everything that is horrible and funny about campaigning and then expounded on it quite a bit more. Every politician wants to have his picture taken with baby. Zak talks to his family at the dinner table and discusses.........are there any skeletons in our family closet. Well, his kids decide to inform their parents of everything they think they did wrong. it's funny. It talks about how our politicians are often not about what they can do for this country, but what they can get out of it and what corporations can get out of it while getting "their candidate" voted in...........at any cost. I notice many of the reviews are not reviews at all, but about two sides fighting agains each other...........have a sense of humor. Be willing to let go of whatever side you're on...........and just enjoy the movie for the humor. I want to see it again as the audience was laughing so much there were parts I missed.
