AS having read the novel after watching the movie,now i fully understood every twist and turn in the movie.The movie is that complex.This was the first raymond chandler novel that was converted into a movie after 6-7 yrs.

This movie is Bogart at his best portraying Phillip Marlowe, a world-weary and cynical private eye who's seen it all (or nearly all of it) and is as hard boiled a detective as they come.
