it tries to be all sophisticated and deep but it ends up being 3 hours of a meandering plotline with puppet characters whom you do not care about. As for the visual effects, which the director is supposedly famous for, they lag in realism and fluidity. The planes were too obviously animation, and the attempted presentation of beauty and glamour at the parties were half-baked. In other words, although the plot is aimless like Gangs of New York, the visuals are far inferior, thus the movie has absolutely nothing.
