This film is art. Wonderful script, terrific acting and overall a look that easily conjures up images of the old west.
Casey Afleck is god in this film. He is so wonderfully talented and fills out the role of Robert Ford so well it's impossible to even consider anyone else could have possibly pulled it off. One thing I can't understand is why we've been wasting our time watching Ben, when it's his little brother that got the real talent, good looks, and if he keeps turning out films like this, staying power.
Brad Pitt as Jesse James is almost upstaged by his cowardly assassin. However, he seems quite a good fit for Jesse James, and remains captivating and entertaining throughout the film.
This is not a film for those with weak bladders, close to three hours in lenght, and gripping throughout, once you start it's hard to break away even for a bathroom break.
As a film, the story would be nothing without the characters which compose, and they themselves would be nothing without the actors who play them.
