"The Artist" is a thoroughly modern silent picture. It tells the story of a big movie star and his lady admirer. The male star's star fades since he can't make the transition to talkies. The lady admirer herself becomes a star. Thus the story has similarities with "A Star is Born" and "Singing in the Rain" You will find that you don't miss the chatter or the color. This is a good story and film. A sure bet to pick up some Oscars next year.
