I didn't know what to expect from this black and white, mostly silent film. It was clever, engrossing, delightful. The story of the fading silent film star and the ascending starlet of talkies is told with a fond eye to classic scenes of both silent and sound films. It continually surprises you with it ability to surprise and engross you, capturing Hollywood the late 1920's and early 1930's in a memorable way.
A unique experience, it is a special film.
