Since the rehashing of the X-men and Batman movie franchises. I guess Spider-man would have to follow suit being Marvel's most popular single superhero. Unfortunately, they also decided to run away from the true origins to make it a different, yet still the same as the original movie from a decade ago. The film retells Spider-man's origin with a slight different version from the original movie and the comic books. Fan Boys will not be happy when Spider-man does not first don the mask as a wrestler as portrayed in both the comics and the original that leads to Uncle Ben's demise. The casting is nothing close to the way the characters are portrayed in the original comics. Sally field does not even have full head of grey hair and uncle Ben doesn't come off as a soft, honorable old man that doles out great words of wisdom that would later shape Peter's morals as a superhero. I am happy that I past on seeing this movies in the theaters since it really is a franchise trying to identify itself as different from the original but in the world of comic books and superheros nothing is as good as the original.
