Honestly, I just don't see the hype here. Hope it turns out decent and the rehash isn't a total failure. I can admit former versions were a bit campy, so hopefully this will be the 'batman begins' of the spiderman series.... but we'll see.

i dont think that it is gonna be as good as the previous movies. whom ever said it first, there is no stan lee or marvel backing this movie it is just not gonna be as good. i will see it ya but just to see what the hype is about. i wish the film luck though.

and yet it's gonna be in the same marvelverse as iron man, thor, captain america, the incredible hulk, and the avengers movies. how do you know stan lee's not gonna make some kind of cameo or that marvel's not backing it? have you seen the finished product? are you an employee of the studio? and, last i checked, marvel still owned spiderman, so they kinda have to back it since it's basically theirs

actually, i think Disney now owns Marvel

A Spider-Man & the X- Men combo movie would bring in the masses. Spider-Man & the X-Men was a big comic series hit. This so-called new faces old idea Spider-Man movie seems to be a rehash with a few twists. I'm not excited about this movie at all. I'll wait for it to come out on red box.

.....for all you nay-sayers, My 4 year old says he can't wait to see it. He's actually begging me to re run the trailer as I type. He's in the Spiderman mode right now, and this movie's timing couldn't be better, for it's his first Spidey movie exposure. So, who cares about the acting, timing, script, genre...etc. The kids get a kick out of it. It's for the kids............uh, right??
    • my .02 21 days ago
ya the kids.Poor kids haven't seen good toons. they use to make them back in the 80s maybe 90s
    • Poguy2k 21 days ago
To me, 'good toons' were the original Bugs Bunny, Daffy and that Warner Brother's cast, made in the 40-50s.

What they are doing is to cut the campy, and add edge. They are doing the same with the new Superman. The edge adds the darker set of reality to the story. Do not get me wrong, I love all the super hero movies for one reason or another. I liked the old Spider man, and I am pretty sure I will like this one because its different. If you make them we will come. Comic book lovers of the world. P.s If you do not want to see it, then do not. But I am willing to bet almost all of you reading this will at some point, watch this movie. Maybe even like it....just a little.

The trailers do look good, but this does not look like the Spidey I grew up with under Romita and the original Ditko. He was not dark, but fun and the older films appear more like the original comics.

Old spiderman works for me, I think the new character looks like TY PENNINGTON!

Do I think it sucks that they are reimagining this story....a tiny bit because I would like them all to go together perfect but in comics there were different versions so the bottom line is it was never about who plays Spidey it is just about SPIDEY. I waited for a movie since I was a kid and now that there are a lot of them I am not complaining....I am actually glad they waited becuase it would have been lame without the high flying CGI. LOVE SPIDEY!!

Is that your only basis for giving this review? Because they didn't show two things in a freakin' trailer? I'm sure once your see it, if you ever see it, they'll flash the Marvel logo before the movie. And nine times out of ten, if it's a Marvel movie, Stan Lee will make a cameo. But keep in mind, this is a freakin' trailer. No Marvel movie has ever been a blockbuster hit because they flash Stan Lee like a freakin' parade balloon in the trailer. If that's your reason for hating this movie, then you'll hate The Avengers, or Iron Man 3, or even the next Spider-Man movie, or any other Marvel movie for that matter.

Plus, you might want to cut back on the periods. Replace those with something meaningful.

people need to remember that there are many versions of spiderman - ultimate, spectacular, amazing , 2099 , india , oh idk the avengers version. as for the actor they did great with andrew and tobi sucked along with butter face dunst. and for the web system he has never had bio organic web shooters in his wrists they were his creation people showing how smart when it came down to being a hero like stark with his armor and im glad there showing his first girlfriend and not just the second. and for being a huge comic spiderman fan this is the closet to any of the comics out there i mean look at venom eric from the 70's show COME ON, and green goblins kid is a future tech snowborder. really? people really ? and sandman all emo along with spiderman gaining the black suit what the hell was that ? do your research people and get smart yeah graphics great but the acting is what brings the hero to life not dead dull actors like tobi and dunst.

I don't think it will make the money it should. I don't think the excitement or desire is there like it was for fans for the first spiderman movie. If no other spiderman movies were made, then I would say everyone would want to see it like the first one & it would be a mega hit. The story may be changed a little but I think people may feel rip off seeing just about same thing. I say more will see it on DVD before see it in the theatres. If it's good enough to see, that is. That's how the movie will make most its money back.
    • my .02 21 days ago
yes and this movie is called amazing spiderman the funny thing is he looks like crap. You think they would try to make him look like the first comic

spideys enemies all turn into some evil creature.... but spidey doesn't turn into a spider after he is bitten, instead he wears a cheap leotard for a costume..... this movie is all cgi....weak

I've been a Spidey fan since 8, I am 40 now. As with all movie adaptations you will have the good and the bad when translating from comic to film. I myself was somewhat disapointed with the first 3 except for the second film which touched alot on Peter's human side and his relationship with Otto. That to me was the best out of the 3. I hated the organic webshooters because marvel changed that in the comics as well. Im very impressed that the decided to go back to the roots and give him his webshooters and play off of his geekness towards science that he is supposed to have. I am excited and I can't wait to sit in a theater opening night and not view in 3D.
