Don't let the accent fool you. Andrew Garfield was born in Los Angeles to an English mother and an American father. His family moved to the U.K. when he was 3. He graduated from the Central School of Speech and Drama at the University of London in '04 and pretty much hit the ground running thereafter. Garfield started to get attention when he appeared in a couple of "Doctor Who" episodes. From there, he started getting movie parts, including those in "Boy A," "Red Riding," "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus," and the wildly underrated "Never Let Me Go." His big breakout in the States was for his Oscar-worthy role as Mark Zuckerberg's ex-partner, Eduardo Saverin, in "The Social Network." Not long after that, Garfield landed the role of Spidey, getting the blessing of the guy who previously played the part, Tobey Maguire. That "made me feel OK about jumping into it," Garfield said at Comic-Con. "He's the best. I'm Team Tobey."
