My family of four saw Tin Tin in 3D and spent over $56 just for the movie tickets. Add a trip to the snack bar and we're talking about $75 for a mediocre movie that 3 out of 4 of us found incredibly boring. I would like movie directors and production studios to understand, if I'm paying $75 to entertain my 7 year old and 10 year old, then I expect them to be ecstatic about the movie. They weren't. The storyline was predictable. The characters were shallow and trite. Several times during the movie I found myself wondering if Spielberg may have been swept away by his ability to use different technologies in the making of this film that he forgot to create an engaging story with characters I cared about. The 3D effects in this movie were not necessary. Go see War Horse instead. I haven't seen it, but maybe that's the better Spielberg offering to bet on this holiday.
