So I was at the library, looking at the pictures on the dvd boxes, like I do every Thursday, and I was surprised to see that Sofia Coppola's dad made a movie! It is called "Tetro". I picked up the box because I thought it said, "Tetris". I have this inclination to try and turn random words into the word "Tetris" all the time. "Tetro" was destined for such a fate. And I looked at the back of the dvd box and thought, "Oh, Willem Dafoe is in this!", but it was some guy who just looks like Willem Dafoe. And some other guy who looks like Leonardo Dicaprio. They both did a great job. Sofia Coppola's dad did a really amazing job on this film! He could really be a well known filmmaker in his own right! I strongly recommend this movie! All the actors did a "bang up" job! I found myself really being interested in the made up story that they were acting out and pretending was real! And Sofia's dad really knows how to make a beautiful movie! Some stunning shots! And I don't throw the word "stunning" around. Even though earlier today, I told some co-workers that my bagel was "stunning". But it really was. I put some cucumber cream cheese on it and it tasted so good! But seriously, Sofia must have let her dad on the set while she was filming "Lost in Translation" because he really knew what he was doing! It is a tragic story with a twist that isn't too twisty, but just twisty enough. Because if the surprise twist at the end of a movie is too twisty, I normally will say something like, "Aw, that's lame. Give me a break." But in this case, I thought to myself something like, "Ok. That's nice. Now that part from earlier is all the more poignant." And the movie really held my attention. Even though every once in a while I would catch myself wondering what a movie about Tetris would be like starring Willem Dafoe and Leonardo Dicaprio. Would Willem and Leo star as the roles of the shapes themselves? Or people playing the game? Or maybe one would be the guy who invented Tetris, and the other could be maybe some guy who invented an evil video game? Like Pac-Man?
