Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street(2007)- User Reviews

I wish I would not have seen this movie at 10:30. Had i seen it at 7, it would have got the attention that it deserved. That being said, even half asleep this movie still impressed me and left me humming the melodies as I left the theater. My one complaint is that many of the lyrics were hard to understand. Also, I did not realize the amount of singing that was in the film before I went. I've seen many musicals and this has by far more singing that any I have seen. Luckily the singing was good. I thought Depp did very well. His tone was a little too bright for the part but he embraces the character so well and you are on his side the whole time as he slices throat after throat. A well made film!
