Maybe it was the fact that I was comparing it to the movie "Dream Girls" that I found it substandard. Or maybe it was the flimsy plot or the acting. Either way, they could have at least had Sparkle's hair blowing in the wind when she was riding on the motorcycle. I wouldn't recommend this movie. Go to the video store instead and watch "Dream Girls" in the comfort of your own home. You can even skip the popcorn.
