I really enjoyed this movie. I enjoyed the music, the cast, the story and most of all I enjoyed a movie that did not turn my stomach! I'm sick of all the violence, cussing and 1-slot above porn sex scenes in movies and now even TV. You can watch this with a date, or teen age kids and not feel embarrassed. The original Sparkle is a favorite. All these years later the story is still real. Christian women that are single parents being ridiculed for trying to live holy lives and bring kids up in a world that has accepted the lie that truth, honor, integrity, and valuing life is not as important as selfishness.
