Southland Tales(2007)- User Reviews

First of all I want to say that I respect this movie and I understood it. Donnie Darko is one of my favorite movies of all time and this was somewhat of a letdown. Now just because I didn't give it an A+ it does not mean that I don't feel good about myself or am ignorant. Alot of these reviews are ignorant though. I mean this isn't a bad movie at all it's intricate and intriguing like it's predessesor. I believe that they waste about 20 minutes and it ran 20 minutes too long though. If you really honk about it I am right. There are some unnecessary plot points and some really rediculous characters that have horrible acting that takes away from the movie. Now I have no problem with The Rock he does great in this different role to him and Sean William Scott what the heck man you can actually do a decent job at acting. However, why the heck do you cast Justin Timberlake and Sarah man it's just not good choices. And This is not the rift role for Amy either I mean she's a great actress just not in this. Kevin Smith was an interesting choice too. Stick to directing and playing Silent Bob dude please. Haha. If you compare this cast to Donnie Darko there is a huge difference in ability even though some of the actors are the same. There is one more thing about this movie that is flawed. Donnie Darko will work for years and years but this won't because American society is going to change and run this movie won't make any sense because that is a big part of the story. One way to make this better is if he filmed pageda of Revelations and casted someone different for Justin Timberlake to narrate the story...
