This was a movie I watched because it had Nathan Fillion in a lead and I was interested to see what he could do outside of Firefly. Turns out that as a sheriff of a small hick town, he doesn't have to reach all that far to effect his character, since this one's not all that far off of Malcolm Reynolds. His mannerism even had the same way of understating a situation to some minor comedic effect, which made this movie worth the watch.
Basically a zombies via aliens from outer space, there's nothing really new here that's not been seen in a Sci Fi Channel B-movie or some of the older B movies of years past. While there was gore, most of it was not terribly dramatic as modern movies go and therefore wasn't by any means shocking. The story line was predictable, right to the last scene after the credits, but was interesting enough not to get bored.
