Went to see this movie today. Not that great. Shallow choppy plot. Whole movie seemed geared to set up the next generation of Bond movies, with new fresh characters. That may be OK but they arent really memorable or cool characters. The villain this time is a whacked out computer genius who has a grudge against M. James is always behind the 8 ball, and cant even shoot a glass of scotch off a girls head. Come on, this guys a 00 agent. He cant shoot a glass of booze off a girls head and then find a creative way to kill the guards too? The OLD Bonds could have. There was a been done before chase scene at the beginning of the movie and a pretty good train fight, but nothing super. I know the bad guy has to get away at first in any movie, but they make Bond look like hes always fumbling or just cant keep up. He has to trail the bad guy through a crowd in the subway, and has trouble. The OLD Bond would have had no problems, and even have had time to make smalltalk with a pretty girl. The characters wander through the villains gambling den supposedly under cover, yet talking out loud on person to person communicators. Yea thats really realistic.
I hope they read some of these reviews when making the next Bond. I love the series. Love Bond. Just not the last few.
