As a kid the first Bond novel I got my hands on was " On Her Majesty's Secret Service" and from then on I was hooked. Then the movies began with Sean Connery and I was really hooked until the fifth and sixth movies when the Bond producers began to introduce unreal gadgets and poorly written scripts. So the first four Bond movies were great and followed what Ian Fleming had created with Bond. The best of the four was "From Russia with Love".
Then came George Lazenby in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service, which was well written and well acted. George actually was good in this movie. The producers stayed close to what Mr. Fleming had written in his novel which turned out to be a good movie upon a second and third look although because it wasn't Sean Connery, the movie and George Lazenby wasn't well received at the time.
After that the writing and the acting went nowhere and Bond became a joke even with big budgets and exotic locations until Pierce Brosnan was picked to play Bond in "Goldeneye" which by the way was the best one he starred in and again the writing and plots went way beyond Fleming's Bond.
Now we come to the new Bond, portrayed by Daniel Craig. His portrayal is the closest thing to Ian Fleming's descriptive narrative of 007 that we've had to date and "Casino Royal" is probably the best Bond we've had to date. "Quantum" wasn't that bad it was poorly written, so with that the clips of "Skyfall" look to be very promising and if it delivers could very well surpass all the rest!
Lets keep Bond the way Fleming intended him to be "REAL"
