Homage to horrible

This movie was bizarre. We follow Bond on the hunt for a disgruntled employee (the baddy) who has dedicated his adult life to killing one person. The writers justify their parochial plot by making it an MI6 employee and making his revenge scheme impossibly and unnecessarily complicated. I kept thinking that there was going to be more, some twist. But, no there isn't.

Absurd scenes are many: Bond digging out a bullet from his chest with his pocket knife. Why not just walk downstairs to the MI6 clinic? During Bond's rehab montage we have to watch him get his intelligence briefings while he is doing pull-ups. Can't you wait like 30 mins?
There is the silence of the lamb glass cell the baddy intentionally gets himself locked into, for no reason. Then there is the finale. Bond's final solution is the lure the baddy to the farmhouse Bond grew up in. Bond decides for no professional backup and for weapons to use whatever he can find (two shotguns and a couple old sticks of dynamite) to Home-Alone-Booby trap the farmhouse against a small army and attack helicopter. I was routing for the baddy at the end.
