Skyfall(2012)- User Reviews

Leaning on ancient gimmicks and jokes, creaking with age, and most unfunny. My wife and I thought we were watching the wrong film-surely this can't be the one which won all the Oscars? Why did it win anything? Dull and badly written, the old formula no longer works, not on this showing anyway. All the car chases and the violence are something I usually enjoy, but they have to be structured around plausible and interesting characters, and this wasn't. A wooden Bond meets a hammy M. Judi Dench would hardly be credible as a headmistress, let alone the head of the spy network. Ralph Fiennes then does his stone cold version of a strict boss-are we meant to like him or not? Well we are meant to enjoy the comic interaction between him and Bond, but the trouble is, we just don't. Final proof that opinions from the major press are all under some influence. They must have been giggling as they wrote those rave reviews...
