Unlike Babycakes review of the movie having a lousy screenplay, I found the writing to be terrific; it's a great screenplay, well directed and acted.
More drama then comedy, it does have it's comic moments as well as high emotional moments. I found the writing to be entertaining and thought provocative. It's a terrific story which the movie tells very well.
Equally well done is the acting. Bradley Cooper is spot on with his character. The guy plays his role with a lurking intensity. Jennifer Lawrence is a revelation. Her performance is deserving of upcoming awards. Jackie Weaver, as the mom, is spectacular and really fills out her role. She deserves an oscar.
Bottom line is this is a very good movie!
