This film was a thoroughly classical theatre romance: the costumes, attitudes and poetry of the time give it a lush and oppulent feeling. This story, unlike so many others, was well paced. The characters had a feeling of realism and the story wasnn't the perfect "happily ever after" story that we've all grown so accoustomed to.
