Joining a circus

A typical Woody film as stream of his consiousness runs thru a movie that is bathed in warm sepia tones.
Most of the movie is of foggy night sepia scenes so its rather difficult to distinguish the players and actors as they perform in a medieval like town.
All that is heard is their voices that sound either alarmed or in Woody's case paranoid.
By the middle of the film its easy to tell who is who, without even looking at the screen.
The story is related in a comedic tongue-n-cheek way as of a group of townsfolk and circus troupe are being stalked by a rampant murderer. To get away from the unseen murderer, some cast members take refuge in alley ways,a bar,a brothel and police qtrs.as the cast bumps into each other unexpectedly ,etc. And in one scene a baby is found in one of the streets and later Woody must decide whether to stay in the city or go with the exiting circus troupe.
Both comedy and curiousity blend to make it a C+ movie.
